STUDENT APPEARANCE Don't be AFRAID to be WEAK Kana is a perky looking girl who stands at the average height of 5ft 5inches, she appears relatively slender however she has a good amount of muscle on her thighs and arms; a quality of hers that makes her feel butch. To compensate for this she often dresses in a very feminine style. Long dresses, skirts, rarely dons shorts and jeans or trousers are even rarer. Normally she enjoys elaborate costume jewellery, but doesn't wear it on account of her work. Due to her Asian British heritage, she has a mixture of qualities taken from her Malaysian mother and English father. Although she has her father porcelain skin tone and bizarre golden eye colour, she took the majority of her facial features from her mother, all with the exception of her red hued hair which is apparent link to her great grandmother. Kana has always been a very careful girl almost to the point of borderline OCD, particularly when she was younger, so her body remains unscarred and untainted. PERSONALITY Don't be too PROUD to be STRONG The main way to describe Kana would be conflicted; she is a polite girl, but not necessarily quiet. She has a tendency to be outspoken, even when unnecessary. She has a good heart but an oblivious nature, she often fails to see the suffering in those around her which is ironic considering the work she is going into. She grew up not aware of the horrors of life around her, mainly focused on her enjoying herself and the company of her friends. Sometimes this means that she struggles to see the bad in people unless they make it screamingly obvious. All throughout school, she considered herself a socialite, and never noticed the bullying ways of the peers she considered besties. A one track mind and easily led. Her decision to go study said was mainly influenced by her father, who was a psychology lecturer at their local university. It seemed an easy path to take as it was right in front of her. Kana wasn't much of a dreamer growing up, she lives very much in the now and it is because of this she stuck in this place. She never really considered doing anything else until now, but she is at a place in her life where she's questioning the choices she made. Her lack of ambition had never been an issues until now, she wasn't even sure if she wanted to be a psychiatrist. But here she is, feeling conflicted and lost in this new world she's stepped into. The most shocking thing in the closet of Kana's personality is that she has a bad temper on her and little control of it when not around her dad, she seems to get this from her mother, despite the fact she wasn't around much. She has learned to control it around her father as instead of trying to calm her, he finds it fascinating that she would retain this trait from an non-existent influence. He usually asks her questions and starts making notes, which when she was younger would make her worse but as she's got older the questions and his prying are the only things that bring her back down to earth. Romantically she has always been a settler, not necessarily easy but doesn't tend to rely on looks or money to attract her to someone. She particular enjoys the company of funny people as she loves to laugh and finds they are often distracting enough so that she doesn't have to sweat the small stuff, like her future. The thing she fears more that anything in the word is being held under water, when she was younger her father took her to a public swimming pool where she began to play with local kids. The kids decided to do an underwater acrobatics and Kana was placed a the bottom of a upside down pyramid because she could hold her breathe the longest. It all seemed sound in theory but when in action, the pyramid collapsed, and the kids fell down, knocking Kana to the bottom of the pool the breathe knocked out of her. She was held their for several minutes because hey were all struggling to untangle themselves from the pyramid, despite all of her struggling she couldn't get herself up before she fell unconscious. At first she was scarred of pools of water completely, but after years of home made phobia therapy from her Dad, she can now just about handled swimming in pools and going to the beach. Albeit she does tend to become a little twitchy. HISTORY Just look into your HEART my FRIEND Prof. Richard James Williams PHD, had lived a successful life he had accumulated numerous successful and credited studies throughout the years and was taken a well deserved break. He was always wanted to travel, and money had never been an issue, his family had funds that allowed him to take three months off of work for travelling and still have plenty of souvenir money to spare. At the solid age of thirty two he figured it was time to take in a little culture. It was this expedition where he met twenty years old Kana Chantheon Liew, one of the most beautiful women he had ever laid his eyes on. She was feisty, friendly and surprisingly well spoken in the English language. They met at a local city café in Kuala Lumpur and he was instantly besotted with her, he put off the rest of his travels to stay in Malaysia and visited her everyday until he managed to convince her to date him. There relationship was passionate, exciting and new, and it was all of these factors that caused it to escalate quickly. Richard wanted her to come back to England with her but she could not, after lots of begging and negotiating. He proposed, she agreed and within two monthes they landed in the UK happily married. Once settled it wasn't long before Kana fell pregnant with their only child. Much to Richard's delight, she was excited and his family was excited, as they hadn't been thrilled with the sudden marriage, it felt like she was finally contributing. However throughout the pregnancy things began to go sour, Kana became irritably and bickered with Richard a lot. The arguments became worse and worse but Richard could not calm her. He considered this the stress of the pregnancy and tried to ignore these changes in his wife's personality. Focusing on his work to distract him, things may have been different had he paid more attention to his expectant wife. Then one evening after having been at work for hours and hours on end, he received a call from the hospital saying that he needed to collect his daughter. He thought they had the wrong person but rushed out when they mentioned that his wife's name. It turned out that Kana had gone into labour after Richard left for work that morning and had given birth within five hours. No one knew what possessed Kana that day, but after holding her baby for ten minutes she ask the doctor to get it away from her as she wanted to sleep. Then when she was left along, she had grabbed her pregnancy bag, pulled out a change of clothes and climbed out of the window. Leaving baby Kana in the incubator and Richard to find her their without a mother hours later. Before he had time to register anything the midwife asked him her named and he wrote the only name he could think of Kana, they asked if he wanted a middle name so he wrote Claire, the name of his grandmother who he'd been very close to. Kana grew up wanting for nothing, her grandmother Aurelia moved in when she was very younger, so she didn't lose a maternal figure. Although Richard often spent his years trying to analyse how the lost of her biological mother would affect her. Kana loves her father deep down, but on the surface she tends to find him irritating and obsessive. He was a great psychologist, but she hated how his analysed everything she did. Despite this she grew up relatively normal, aside from inheriting her mothers explosive temper. Her temper had got her into some difficult situations, injured classmates, or broken school property. But her father developed such a technique to calm her that as she aged if she felt her rage, she would just call him and he would bring her down. Her education was above average, her grades were always good but not the best with a B average. She didn't have the straight A's that her father had but due to his pressure and finances, she pushed through university and received a 2:1 in clinical psychology. Because of this her father is funding the continuation of the rest of her education. Sending her to North Hollow was his idea as he felt she need a place of study with great field experience. Despite her objections, she had no say in coming here and has just about come to terms with that fact she is now stuck here.
